Althought it has been created recently, “Animals films” starts its path in the audiovisual world with two important projects, led by its visible heads, the actor and director Abel Folk and the filmmaker Joan Riedweg. The first one is the TV programme serie titled OBJECTIU PASTORETS, for TELEVISIî DE CATALUNYA. It was broadcasted during Christmas 2008-2009. Consisting in a series of daily clips and a big lively broadcasted performance, its topic was Els Pastorets, a traditional Christmas theatre play, that involves a lot of amateur groups all around Catalunya. The whole project had an audience of more than 5,5 million spectators (1,225,000 just in the final perfromance). The second project is a TV-movie called XTREMS, a movie where real interviews with real people are combined with actors performing their stories of people living on the edge. The fim is now in post-production and it will have a theatrical release too. Finally, “Animal Films” also wants to give chances to young filmmakers. Having knowledge of former works of Albert Folk –“El camioner” (2005), “What to do?” (2006), “Krokodillos On The Road” (2007)–, we decided to take part as co-producers of the documentary “CIUTAT VELLA CB”. We find it is an interesting proposal of social documentary, where sport is related with topics like immigration or the learning of life skills.
