Founded by the ethnographer Giuseppe Šebesta in 1968 and set in the Italian Alps, the “Museo degli Usi e Costumi della Gente Trentina” (“Museum of Folkways of Trentino”) is one of the largest Italian establishments of ethnographic conservation. The rural technology of the mountains, in its historic, ethnographic specificity, represents the object of exposition of the museum. The museum includes an archive of oral traditions (Archivio Provinciale della Tradizione Orale), a section of visual anthropology, and organizes the ethnographic section “Eurorama” of Trento Film Festival.
