Alan Grossman is a South-African born filmmaker and visual anthropologist working in the Centre for Transcultural Research and Media Practice, Dublin Institute of Technology. He has a longstanding research and production involvement with the cultural politics of identity, migration and diasporic formations across different transnational contexts. He co-directed an ethnographic film titled Silent Song (2000) about an exiled Kurdish musician in Scotland and is co-editor with Áine O’Brien of a combined book/DVD-ROM titled Projecting Migration: Transcultural Documentary Practice (2007).
